Fishing in a Barrel Tee

What the Danish expression “feeling like a herring in a barrel” means, this couple experienced first-hand after their ship sank. Their salvation was jumping into a herring barrel, where they spent their days fighting hurtful herring gulls and hungry herring sharks.
After many weeks at sea with no water and a rather one-sided diet, land was finally in sight – and like two tugboats, they dragged themselves across the beach and under the palm trees. Their lives may have been saved, but their appetite for herring was never the same again. And for all of us who love curried herring, we know that’s a tragedy in itself.
